SLIGO STREET

CROMWELL

BLENDING OLD WITH THE NEW

This project on Sligo Street, in the heart of Old Cromwell, was a good challenge of blending old and new. Originally built in the 1800’s the owners wanted to add a new modern living space whilst paying homage to the original stonework.

Rather than attempting to replicate the ancient stonework we made the decision early on that a modern extension would be both more aesthetically pleasing and economical.

The result was a thermally efficient extension to the back of the property for daily living, that pays homage to the building's origins through exposed stone walls forming the interior of the new living space.
