It was an awesome experience being involved in the relocation and restoration of three magnificent old villas from ‘red zoned’ land in Christchurch to the Gibbston Valley.
The most recent villa relocated is the tallest building in the rural Wakatipu region at the time of writing, thanks to its turret, which had to be resized to comply with regional regulations in order to gain consent.
Featured on Grand Designs New Zealand in the moving mansion episode - plans involved a sunken wine cellar amongst other quirky features.
